10,000 metres race walk at Inglewood Saturday 26 January 2008
The 10,000 metre race walk is definitely on for Saturday 26th January 2008 (early evening) at the Inglewood track. The Athletics New Zealand running 10,000 metres champs is on the same meeting, so it should be a chance to have a few people in the stands to watch the walking. We will have to limit this event to 60 minutes because of time constraints, although this maybe pull anybody out who hasn't started the last lap within 60 minutes. Wally Gillum is the main organiser; entry fee and finer details will be available soon.
We are hopeful of getting most of our top walkers from around the Country for this event. Could you all put this date in your diaries. If you are not walking, then please be there as a spectator, helper or judge. It is not often that walking gets a prominence such as this and should be a night to remember.
This should be a great spectacle if we can get all our top walkers on the track together.
